As a result, the victim is in full dependence to the abuser which also makes it hard for her to leave him and out of the relationship.

Victims of Domestic Violence suffer greatly physically, emotionally, socially and financially. For a survivor to start recovering from the violence, she must accept that the blame is not hers to take. The past can still haunt her but this should not stop her from thinking about her present and future. It is also important that she reopen her relationship with her family and friends. This may be hard because she is used to isolation but with time and effort, she can be able to build another relationship with her family and friends. Sessions with the therapist also helps a lot because of the traumatic experience that she has gone through.



Domestic Violence Recovery is possible for all with the time, effort and support from concerned citizens and a Violence Impact Panel. Survivors should still have high hopes for their present and future lives.
